Accounts Receivable/Payroll Clerk

The Village of Sparta is accepting applications for a full-time Accounts Receivable/Payroll Clerk position. The starting pay is $23.00/hr. with MERS Defined Contribution retirement plan (10% Employer, 5% Employee Contribution), personal, sick, and vacation paid time off, excellent low out of pocket cost BCBSM Health Insurance, Vision, Dental, and Life insurance benefits. The work schedule is four 10-hour shifts Monday thru Thursday 7:
30am to 5:
30pm. Paid on-site breaks and lunch. All Friday's Off! No experience or college degree necessary. However, experience with customer service, BS&A Software, accounting, or payroll experience considered a plus. Position will be trained on the job. The most important requirements are a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and ability to work well with our team. The position works as part of our three-person finance team in Village Hall under the direct supervision of our Finance Director. Primary responsibilities include customer service (answering the phone, emails, and in-person inquires), payroll, data entry, filing, and accounts receivable. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
